عن هذا الكتاب
The Café Wall — A Collection of Short Stories Amid a diverse collection of stories, intertwined social narratives explore a wide range of themes: unrequited love, friendship, dreams versus reality, self-interest and exploitation, selfishness and arrogance in all their forms, and sincere attempts to overcome life's struggles. Within each story, life unfolds through a variety of characters from workplaces, schools, and universities, with the exception of Salma, the main protagonist, whose deeply sensitive perspective connects the stories through the smallest details of their intertwined lives. The narrative follows the web of dreams Salma weaves as she confronts reality, only for fate to leave her facing disappointment and failure in the end. Through sincere words and an honest narrative voice, conflicting emotions emerge amid a struggle between family, fear, hope, society, and mental illness. Within this turmoil, as different stories unfold through a variety of narratives, the secondary protagonist Laila Ashraf stands out, carrying the weight of many burdens and weaving her life between attempts to survive and moments of wavering on the edge of suicide. What distinguishes The Café Wall is its rich diversity within a deeply human framework filled with profound emotions. It tells numerous realistic stories of love, pain, dreams, disappointment, and overwhelming emotions, offering a reflection of lives that may appear ordinary on the surface yet conceal countless untold stories. The Café Wall was published by Al-Ahram Foundation – Distribution Agency in 2024.
